When sneaker aficionados think about the brands that have an influence on the sneakers that they buy, the list of the companies usually looks something like this: Nike, adidas, Reebok, Puma, New Balance, Saucony, Coca-Cola, and Gatorade, to name a few.
While the list can also include companies that have had an influence on what sneakers ‘heads spend their money on, there’s also Apple, Inc., which even though Apple isn’t a footwear company, they do and have had an impact on kicks. (Shoot, there are folks that wear New Balance 991 sneakers because Steve wore them.)
With the death of Steve Jobs, Co-Founder and former-CEO of Apple, his impact on the world, technology, and even sneakers have inspired comparisons to Albert Einstein. We, at OSD, wouldn’t argue otherwise.
Previously, on Ep195, the OSD Crew discussed what New Balance USA has in store for connoisseurs in 2012, along with the FTC laying the hammer down on Reebok’s EasyTone & RunTone footwear & apparel (Yeah, we quoted the great Public Enemy song about EasyTone well before the FTC did.)
