Today’s sneaker and gadget picks for 2012 come from the newest member of the OSD Crew. He goes by the name RDQLUS (@RDQLUS1 on Twitter) from the O.NE (that’s Omaha Nebraska folks).
OSD’s Brand Ambassador had some pretty interesting things to share regarding his picks. So without further delay, here are his picks for sneaker and gadget of the year for 2012
Sneaker of the Year: Reebok Twilight Zone Pump
Reebok finally dug back into their archives to show that they were not a subserviently quiet and distant “no. 3”. They were actually major in the 90s. The Twilight Zone is obnoxiously high & bright, comfortable and has a working pump system. Form following function gets this designer every time.
Gadget of the Year: Nike Fuel Band
Yeah yeah, we all know it’s kind of gimmicky, but the truth of the matter is that it’s brilliant on so many levels. Get people active, counting goals and “fuel” points, and wearing the hell out of their workout kicks; yeah, well played Nike. It was the first time I had really seen such buzz and hype in the general public about a non-sneaker item that a sneaker-dominant company had introduced.
We’d also like to add that RDQLUS1 is his handle on Instagram. He is also a hired gun for many branding and design projects including his own clothing and accessory line. You can check out some of his work on his web site HERE.
