With a fervor that surpassed what we saw for the Nike Air Foamposite “Galaxy” sneakers that were released earlier this year, the Air Yeezy 2 caused some folks to ‘wild-out’ for the kicks, but luckily because of some smart thinking some retailers created raffles for the sneakers, and made sure things remained calm and fun.
Thank goodness because the sneaker community doesn’t need anymore bad publicity.
The good folks of Villa, with stores in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, and Ohio, decided to hold a scavenger hunt through the streets of Philly to win a spot to buy a pair of the Yeezy 2 sneakers.
Check out the details regarding the scavenger hunt, and enjoy the video!
Over 20,000 people attempted to register but only 150 people were selected for VILLA’s Yeezy 2 Scavenger Hunt on June 14.
Participants came from Cleveland, New York, Pittsburgh, Virginia, Washington, DC, Philadelphia, and everywhere in between. Where are you Yeezy?
The Philadelphia based lifestyle fashion retailer started the hunt at 4 AM on the steps of the famous Art Museum of Philadelphia. After completing 20 tasks and visiting 22 sites, the first person successfully completed VILLA’s Yeezy Hunt in 15 hours.
Pairs of the sneakers were sold to the top finishers and the right to purchase the last pair was raffled away.
Later that night, DJ Clark Kent made a guest appearance at VILLA’s Egyptian-themed release party for the scavenger hunt participants.
If you weren’t there for the hunt, check out the video to see all the twists, turns, laughs, and thrills from the night.
VILLA still has a few more pairs of Yeezy’s available…you ain’t got no Yeezy 2s? Follow VILLA’s twitter page (@ruvilla) to find out about their next Yeezy adventure.
